Educational Opportunities
The National Pancreas Foundation was started by two families whose lives have been forever changed by pancreas disease-one with pancreatic cancer, the other with chronic pancreatitis. The lack of resources available and the misinformation about the diseases compelled them to push for funding for research, support groups and increased awareness in both the public and medical communities.

The #1 question we receive is, “My loved one has just been diagnosed with pancreatitis. I live in Nebraska. Where is the best medical treatment available? Where can we get some answers.” Many times it takes several doctors and too long a period of time before the correct diagnosis is made. In the case of pancreatic cancer, early detection is more the exception than the rule.

One of NPF’s goals is to encourage the education of the medical community about pancreas disease via financial support of conferences, seminars, and meetings, such as the annual meeting of the American Pancreatic Association. We encourage you to submit an application for NPF sponsorship of a conference.
